Allow your in-house and day guests to order food & drink with iRiS Guest

With iRiS Guest v5.7 you can now configure our platform and Apps to let any of your guests order food and drink or make requests, and have those items delivered to their table or collected from a designated area, and we call it Non-Verified Orders and Requests

Historically our Apps have always required guests to be checked into the hotel and they have to use their Last Name and Room Number to complete orders or requests (Verified guestor in-house guest)We’ve received a lot of feedback from our customers that you have many day guests visiting hotels who don’t have a room (Non-Verified, or day guest), and they’ve not been able to use the iRiS Guest App to place orders or make requests. We wanted to figure out how to solve that problem and support the many scenarios you may have

You can use our Guest Experience Platform (GXP) to create an Order Form, and you can enable fields to capture information about the guest like their name, email address, and even some custom fields.

We currently support 3 scenarios in iRiS Guest v5.7 which are listed below:

  • Scenario 1: Only Verified is enabled, so a In-House Guest must use a Last Name and Room Number to verify who they are to place orders and make requests. The day guest cannot place an order or make a request

  • Scenario 2: Both Verified and Non-Verified is enabled, so an in-houseguest can use their Last Name and Room Number and a day guest can place orders or make requests by entering the information you require into the Order Form

  • Scenario 3: Only Non-Verified is enabled for an Outlet, so the day guest can place orders and make requests by entering the information you require into the Order Form

Below shows how Scenario 2 would look to the guest when they try to place an order or make a request:

Scenario 2, the in-house guest and day guest can complete the order

Scenario 2, the in-house guest and day guest can complete the order

The in-house guest can enter the Last Name and Room Number to charge the item to their room, where as the day guest can use the Order Form to complete the order. Scenario 1 would remove the Green button in the above left screenshot, and Scenario 3 skip the Sign In page and show the Order Form in the above right screenshot

If you want to set this up in your App, please use this article to do so, you can even try this on our demo site if you go to the Poolside Bar. If you have any suggestions to improve the feature, please email product@iris.net, we always welcome feedback about our products

Thanks,
