v5.38 Split Bill, Call Waitstaff, and Advance Ordering

Version 5.38 introduces our new ‘Split Bill’ feature which allows multiple users to pay a single tab; a new ‘Call Waitstaff button’ that alerts staff when a guest needs assistance, and ‘Advanced Ordering’ which enables guests to pre-order groceries and toiletries ahead of their stay.

As always please note that the property branding and content shown are from the IRIS Beta property, but when these features are released it will be with your property branding, logos and colour schemes applied as they are today. Split Bill

Split Bill

Our ‘Open Tab’ feature made it easy for multiple guests to order on a single tab. Now, ‘Split Bill’ goes a step further by making it simple and convenient for multiple users to pay the single tab.

With Split Bill, users can retrieve an Open Tab, set the amount they want to pay (including tip), pay, and then have one or more other users add payments from their own devices until they have paid the total. Guests can also see how much each person has paid in the Order History.

Pro Tip: Hotel staff can pull up the tab according to the table number or room, see the individual transactions in the Order Centre, and track the outstanding balance as each person pays. If there are any issues, they can easily identify whose card it is.

Call Waitstaff

Call Waitstaff

The new ‘Call Waitstaff’ function offers greater efficiency for staff and delivers superior service for guests.

Once settled at a table, guests have the option to call for a member of staff via the Call Waitstaff button on the app. A ticket receipt is then delivered to the kitchen or till to notify staff that a guest requires assistance and gives their location.

Pro Tip: It delivers a more efficient service as waitstaff are only walking the floor to meet a direct guest need - and not on the floor or waiting in busy pool areas unnecessarily when they are not needed. As a result, resources are saved, wait times are reduced and guests receive a swifter service.

Advance Ordering

Advance Ordering

Our team has been looking for new ways for hotels to enrich the guest stay and generate ancillary revenue pre-arrival. One such feature is ‘Advance Ordering’, which allows guests to order groceries, toiletries, and other amenities ahead of their stay.

Perfect for self-catering guests to stock up their villa or to pre-order flowers and Champagne to guests in the Honeymoon suite.

Properties can set a minimum notice period required for orders and hide certain items that guests can’t order in advance.

Pro Tip: This feature can also be implemented across departments to include catering or IT requests such as AV equipment or projectors for large conferences and the MICE market.
