v5.40 - Staff Ordering and Flat Menu Version of Any Menu
Version 5.40 introduces the highly-anticipated Staff Ordering feature, enabling waitstaff to use the IRIS platform to take orders from customers.
In addition, we have introduced a way to quickly change any Outlet’s menu to display in Flat Menu mode.
As always please note that the property branding and content shown are from the IRIS Beta property, but when these features are released it will be with your property branding, logos and colour schemes applied as they are today. Staff Ordering
Until now, the IRIS ordering system always put the emphasis on the guest placing an order. With this new release, we are introducing a brand-new Staff Ordering interface that will enable waitstaff to use IRIS on any device to take orders from customers.
To access Staff Ordering, staff members can log in to the IRIS Manager and access the new page. They will then be able to take orders using a simplified user interface that is designed to make the ordering process as quick as possible. Once an order is taken, it can be sent directly to the POS system.
Here are some of the benefits of Staff Ordering:
It enables hotels and restaurants to take orders quicker and more efficiently for those guests that still prefer waiter service.
It provides a simplified user interface that is quick and easy to use.
It can be combined with existing IRIS features to create a seamless ordering experience for guests.
Customer wait times are reduced as orders flow directly to the kitchen to be processed - no need for a waiter to manually upload the order back at their terminal which delays the process.
Pro Tip: Staff Ordering can be combined with the existing Open Tab and Pay at Table features. This allows guests to add to a tab started by a waiter or pick up the tab and pay it on their device.

Flat Menu Version of Any Menu
Do you want to display your menu without allowing guests to order from it? With our new Flat Menu Version of Any Menu, you can do this (without creating two separate outlets). Simply add a short code snippet to the URL of any outlet, and the display for every category will change to Flat Menu.
This means that any changes you make to your Outlet will be immediately reflected in the Flat Menu version as well.
Pro Tip: You can link to the Flat Menu version of your outlets on your website or any other place where people may want to view the menu, but not place an order.
